The AYN Odin2 (curr. $449 on Amazon) may have a new challenger in town. While many powerful Android gaming handhelds exist now, the Odin2 remains the go-to for many reviewers on account of its powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, its decent pricing and its ready availability at least in the US. Although AYANEO and others have sought to challenge the Odin2 with various devices, they have missed the mark in one way or another.
Now, Retroid is preparing to usurp the Odin2 as the new go-to for Android handheld gaming. Specifically, it has finally confirmed full specifications, launch pricing and release date for the Pocket 5, which it has been teasing alongside the Pocket Mini throughout the last week or so. Incidentally, the company has also revealed similar details for the Pocket Mini, which we have covered separately.
